MAP Violations Guide

When a MAP violation is received, review the notice, verify your “Get Inventory” feed is error-free, and update the MAP in Flxpoint accordingly. Then, immediately adjust the price on your sales channel, enable the price protection toggle to prevent future underpricing, and validate your changes to ensure compliance.

Reviewing the Violation Notice

When you receive a MAP violation notice, begin by carefully reviewing the communication. Understand which product or products are affected and note the required MAP as specified by the manufacturer or brand.

Verifying the Inventory Feed

Confirm that your “Get Inventory” feed is operating without errors, as this feed imports the latest supplier MAP data into Flxpoint. If you discover any issues, take immediate action to resolve them.
Key points to check:

  • Feed status: Ensure there are no errors or failures.
  • Data freshness: Confirm that the imported data reflects the latest supplier pricing.

Updating the MAP in Flxpoint

Manually update the MAP price in Flxpoint if it does not match the supplier’s data. This step is crucial because the next synchronization will push the updated price to your sales channel.
Consider the following:

  • Verify the supplier’s current MAP.
  • Adjust the product’s pricing within Flxpoint accordingly.
  • Save the changes to ensure they are queued for the next sync.

Applying an Immediate Fix on Your Sales Channel

For a prompt resolution, manually update the price directly on your website or marketplace. This immediate correction helps resolve the violation while Flxpoint processes the updated information.

Enabling the Price Protection Toggle

To prevent accidental underpricing in the future, enable the “Never let product price go below Cost or MAP” toggle within your settings. This safeguard ensures that:

  • Published prices remain above the defined minimum.
  • Future pricing errors are minimized.

You can start by going to Settings, click on Product Modifiers, and then click on Additional Rules and you will be able to enable the toggle.

Validating and Monitoring Changes

After updating the MAP, verify that the corrected price appears accurately on your sales channels. Continue to monitor your “Get Inventory” feed to catch any discrepancies early.
Steps for validation:

  • Check live listings on your website or marketplace.
  • Re-run the inventory feed if necessary.
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with the MAP requirements.
